Sunwing and its president swinging
Journal de Montréal – Lise Giguère – June, 30 2015

Behind every object we use the idea of a human who first imagined it still flickers. Often these visionaries seem to us as confined, dark, inaccessible and concerned men and it is rare that we can see them performing on stage. Yet this is what the founding president of Sunwing, Colin Hunter offers you.

Colin Hunter, business man and crooner

By day, this lover of the 1950s jazz repertoire, popularized by the likes of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole and Tony Bennett, ensures the destiny of the Sunwing Travel Group, together with his son Stephen; by night, he transforms himself into a crooner at the Jazz Bistro, the club he opened in the heart of Toronto ( or at various festivals in which he participates as a guest artist.

Stephen Hunter

A family success story

Since the inception of this company, the two men transformed the smallest tour operator in Canada into the largest in North America. Today, Sunwing annually carries 1.6 million passengers and generated a turnover of $1.8 billion.

Now the largest leisure vacation provider in Canada to sun destinations (Caribbean, Mexico and Central America), Sunwing distinguishes itself by offering its customers a complete experience (travel agency, planes, hotels and exclusive receptive). Who wouldn’t be proud?

It’s no wonder that the first CD launched in 2006 by Colin Hunter, just one year after starting his aviation company, is entitled Come Fly with me.

Since then, 11 other albums were created and a 12th is being recorded in Quebec City with the great orchestra of Roland Martel.
